I was prompted to write this today when we came across a new feature on a camera whereby we’re forced to send 2 requests in order to get a snapshot.
Meet Starvedia.
Other candidates for our hall of fame are Ubiquiti for their session-based cookie authentication and Samsung Techwin for going down the road of Digest-Auth.
None of these decisions are, in and of themselves, bad decisions, it’s just that they server to further fragment the IP Camera space … increasing the necessity of Evercam to bring it all together.
