Eve Belle is a luxury, state-of-the-art care home with 58 comfortable en-suite rooms in the highly desirable town of Wickford, Essex. Set over two floors, Eve Belle will feature a Cinema, Spa Suite, Hairdressing Salon, Cocktail Bar, Family Rooms and Bistro Lounges.
Basildon Council received an application in July 2020 to replace Chaplin Lodge on Nevendon Road with plans to knock down the 66-bed complex and build a new 58-bed home.
The existing facilities then, could not cater for all residents’ needs because the majority of the rooms had WHBs with no private showering facilities and it was near impossible to accommodate specialist hoist and lifting equipment.
All bedrooms in the facility are now a minimum of 20 square meters with en‐suite facilities. Garden access is provided to most of the ground floor bedrooms to promote the use of outdoor space.
All 58 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms or wetrooms, with large windows in each room to allow for more natural light. The home also includes a central cafe as a “dementia cafe” for family visits and activities to form “positive memories”.
The home has reserved a space for a hairdresser on the first floor, with the aim of bringing in a business from the area to cut residents’ hair.
There is one construction camera on-site being used by Runwood Homes to monitor construction progress throughout the duration of the project.
