MCN Build is building the remarkable  Sparrows Point Park and Recreation Center in Edgemere, Maryland. This project includes a 16,000 SF community centre, a synthetic turf field, walking paths, a dock, a playground, parking areas, stormwater facilities and essential utilities. 

The site,  formerly a shipyard, required extensive soil remediation before construction could begin. Crews have removed two feet of contaminated topsoil. This highlights the challenges and the importance of revitalizing this area for the community.

MCN Build’s Strategy for Staying on Schedule?

To ensure transparency and keep the project on schedule, MCN Build is using the Evercam platform for real-time progress tracking. The Construction Visibility platform provides stakeholders with live views of the construction site cameras via shareable links.

Northern Light Acadia Hospital has successfully completed a major project with Advanced Construction Monitoring, adding 100 new private patient rooms. This project involved two significant additions: one focused on inpatient treatment for children and teens, and another expanding the Pediatric Day Treatment Program. Consigli Construction Co., Inc. led the effort in collaboration with Lavallee Brensinger Architects, whose expertise was crucial in managing complex logistics, ensuring smooth hospital operations, and maintaining safety throughout construction. 

Modern Facilities for Comprehensive Care

As part of the “Acadia For All” campaign, the hospital expanded its pediatric wing with 50 new inpatient rooms, therapy areas, and classrooms, providing comprehensive behavioural health services for children and teens across Maine. 

The team also upgraded the adult inpatient facilities to four units. Each unit offers private rooms and bathrooms, sensory rooms, family visiting areas, and therapeutic gardens. The Mood & Memory Outpatient Clinic has been relocated to a larger, more accessible space within the hospital. This move aims to serve elderly patients better.

The project aimed to centralise many support services to increase efficiency and shorten staff walking distances. Elecnor Australia has partnered with Transgrid and is delivering the ongoing EnergyConnect project, one of Australia’s largest transmission line projects. The project involves the construction of new high-voltage transmission lines and associated infrastructure between NSW, VIC and SA.

In addition, it aims to enhance network reliability, integrate renewable energy sources, and improve energy connectivity between states. It’s an important project supporting Australia’s transition to a more sustainable and reliable energy system.

Once completed, EnergyConnect will enable the sharing of energy across NSW, SA and VIC, facilitating the connection of additional renewable generation capacity. The project managers installed construction cameras over the site and utilised the Evercam platform to enhance the visibility and management of this significant project.

Infrastructure Development

The project involves the development of new infrastructure for the South West NSW Renewable Energy Zone, which enables the connection of an additional 4950MW of generation capacity. The project began in November 2022, and is recognized as Critical State Significant Infrastructure by the NSW Government.

The project’s scope is extensive. It includes the construction of approximately 900 kilometres of new transmission lines across 3 states. The project team is expanding and upgrading the Buronga and Wagga substations. In addition,  a new substation at Dinawan near Coleambally, NSW is being established to strengthen the infrastructure.

Due to the expansiveness of the project, the team positioned several construction cameras to ensure detailed monitoring and management of the site. The northern waterfront of St. Leonards was recently renovated, and as a result, the previously small shoreline was widened by 15 meters, according to DELWP(The Australian Department of Environment Land Water and Planning). The beach renourishment is designed to protect the coastline from further erosion, caused by more severe storms and rising sea levels attributed to climate change. Approximately 35,000m3 of sand was pumped onshore and 25,000m3 was used to construct the beach profile at St Leonards’ southern beach.

Enlarging the shoreline has improved the recreational area, protected coastal assets from inundation, and decreased the likelihood of erosion along the coastline. Over 25,000m2 of sand was harvested from an offshore location, pumped to shore, and then spread out and profiled landscaping and the planting of indigenous plants along the shoreline are examples of post-works.
